This is a sample outline for a CFP Proposal. You can use this as a guideline to prepare a good proposal for your PyCon talk.

Keep Your Title Simple and Straightforward

Description

This is where you can give a detailed description of your talk. You can start with a short introduction explaining the talk, the background of the talk or the motivation behind the talk.

Then you can give more information about your talk. What will people learn from this talk? Who will this talk help? How can people use the knowledge they gain from this talk?

  • You can use bullet points
  • To give details more succinctly

Feel free to use subheadings

Give subheadings for:

  1. Prerequisites for your talk: What are the things that the audience should know? Which packages/frameworks are required?
  2. Different sections of your talk: If there are certain sections in your talk requires more explanation, you can use a subheading for that.
  3. Who the talk is for: Feel free to also add a section of your target audience.

Talk Outline

  • Give an outline of the topics that you will cover in your talk chronologically.
  • Also, give an estimate of how much time each section will take: 2 mins

Speaker Info

Help us and your audience know you better. Add some details about yourself: What is your background?, Have you spoken before? How do you use python in your daily life?

Talk Links

Give links about your talk. Some of the things you can provide are:

  • Casual Video: Record an informal video of you explaining your talk and send us a link to it
  • Project Repo: If you have a repository to your project, you can add that.
  • Previous Talk Links: If you have spoken somewhere before (on the same or different topic), then you can add a link to that here

Blogs and Social Links

Finally, you can add links to your personal blogs, social media handles and project repos.
