Description

This pull request adds a Social Network Analysis folder containing analysis scripts and visualizations related to social network analysis using the NetworkX library. The folder includes code for analyzing character interactions in the movie Star Wars Episode IV, leveraging graph theory concepts such as nodes, edges, and weights to visualize relationships among characters.

Summary of Changes:

  • Introduced Python scripts that read a weighted edgelist of character interactions.
  • Implemented visualizations using matplotlib to illustrate character relationships.
  • Included detailed comments in the code for clarity and understanding.
  • Enhanced the documentation with explanations of social network analysis concepts and the methodology used in the scripts.

Motivation and Context:

Social network analysis (SNA) provides valuable insights into the relationships and interactions within a network. By adding this analysis to the repository, users can explore the connections between characters in a popular movie, fostering a deeper understanding of SNA principles in a relatable context.

Dependencies:

  • networkx: for creating and analyzing the graph structures.
  • matplotlib: for visualizing the network graphs.
  • Python (version 3.x recommended).
