How to record desktop using VLC

1. Open VLC.
   
2. Go to the menu and click on Media -> Convert/Save.
   
3. Click on the Capture Device tab.
   
4. Select Desktop in Capture mode.
   
5. Change the frames per second to a desired value.
   
6. Click Convert/Save.
   
7. In Profile, select a Video for MPEG4 option. (Default option seems to have a transcoder issue)
   
8. In Destination file, write the name of the file to save the recording as.
   
9. Click Start to start recording.
   
10. Click the stop button to stop recording.
