Play with Web Player

To access integrated Plyr web player. Do as follows:

  1. Make sure you selected Web browser | Media player as your receiver type in extension settings.

  2. Select your video, audio or picture file (videos can be optionally transcoded - tick box on bottom left during video selection).

  3. Access web player using your browser at http://server_ip:port (Chrome browser is recommended).

Where server_ip is the computer IP address you are running the extension on and port is the port number selected in extension settings (default: 4000).

Tip: You can quickly try it out on your local computer (server) using "localhost" instead of IP.

It is recommended to assign your PC a static IP address or custom hostname, then you will not have to check if IP has been changed and it will allow you to bookmark this web page for easy access.

Important info

Please note that the web browsers usually do not support many video formats (e.g. HEVC). In that case tick "Transcode Video" option during the file selection to encode video to supported H.264 format or better yet, use external media player application.

Firefox does not support matroska format, so you will not be able to play mkv videos and use video transcoding on this browser.
